Demand Climate Action at 2023 UN Climate Summit

Petition Text

The 2023 UN Climate Summit Conference (COP28) will be debating issues that can make all the difference in the world for billions of people. It will cover establishing a global Fund on Losses and Damages to support those who have experienced debilitating climate losses due to climate change, global heating and climate disasters; the development of a Global Framework on Adaptation; calls for a Fossil Fuel NonProliferation Treaty; phasing out of fossil fuel subsidies; and much more. Join Action for Sustainable Development, Sustainably Wise and hundreds of other civil society organizations in calling for the most ambitious agreement possible to fully address climate change and global heating and transition to a 100% renewable energy future.

Why is this important?

Many countries want to do what is right and is needed; but they often get blocked by those governments that just want to maintain the status quo and care more about vested interests and corporate profits than about the well-being of humanity and life on Earth. It is much more specific than this general appeal.

Action for Sustainable Development is finalizing the Statement and will be opening it up for signature within a couple of days. I am the North American Representative on the Facilitating Group for A4SD and the main UN representative of the Global Ecovillage Network. You can contact me at: [email protected]. How it will be delivered

Forward it to governments at the COP28 Climate Summit; Deliver it to the Media.
