U.S. House of Representatives must immediately pass the Green New Deal and Medicare For AllAmericans, who mostly support these two bills, need assurance from our Congress members that the future is toward care of the Earth, its people and life itself. The 2020 Democratic Party Platform ahead of Nov. 3rd will be greatly enhanced in its power if the House takes action now on these two sweeping policy programs.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sidney M.

Climate Change is KILLING our Planet. Politicians & Corporations MUST take IMMEDIATE ACTIONClimate Change is a reality. ACTION to stop man-made carbon dioxide is an EMERGENCY and the timeline is MOST URGENT now. Deniers are operating in the interests of fossil-carbon-based industries. Fixing the man-made contributions of carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere is far more URGENT than politicians and multi-national corporations realize. The deniers scoff at the conclusions of The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the guidelines they provided in 2006. The IPCC was founded in 1988. It took 18 years just to produce agreed-upon guidelines acceptable to all the nations that were part of the IPCC. Even with the massive effort needed to transform the American (and the rest of the world's) economy to a wholly renewable, sustainable carbon-neutral fuel system with best efforts and total support from government and corporate policies, even with enthusiasm and all haste in supporting the efforts it will take several years to accomplish this kind of change. Setting timeline goals of 2030 and 2050 is no guarantee that these measures will be effective enough to avoid billions (yes, billions!) of deaths as a result of Climate Change. Some scientists even claim that we may reach a point, very soon, that the effects of Climate Change will accelerate, feeding on the current effects themselves to continue in a self-sustaining way. We have arrived at a point that politicians have noticed that Climate Change requires attention. We need to make them (and corporate CEOs) aware just how URGENT an EMERGENCY this is, and to take massive and IMMEDIATE action to address this global problem. This is no time to spend another 18 years of debate to produce nothing but more guidelines. As one politician has said, we need to put ourselves, "On a war footing" as we did in gearing up for WWII. The USA reacted with fast-paced and transformative changes. We need immediate results on that scale and we need it NOW. Despite critticism of the cost, there is also huge economic opportunity in this transition. There is no one to fight here, no bombs or guns can defeat it. It cannot be condensed into the single face of an enemy but it is the world's problem, and we must unite to defeat this common foe. We must hold our politicians and corporate leaders responsible to take IMMEDIATE and MASSIVE WORLDWIDE ACTION to create worldwide infrastructure in support of sustainable, renewable fuel that does not put fossil carbon into an atmosphere already overloaded with climate changing elements. Contact your local politician. Demand change!3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stafford W.

NEW SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH CABINET POSITION FOR PRESIDENTPoliticians are rarely scientists, engineers or mathematicians. These areas progress, change and discover new things pretty much daily and are advancing in complexity. The President of the United States can impact the world today and for decades to come with decisions that they may not fully understand how these impacts will be felt. They need a STEM cabinet position to help them understand, no matter what their political party affiliation.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert R.

Don't Let Snowmobiles Drive Caribou to ExtinctionConservationists have struggled to protect these animals for years, and have failed, largely due to opposition from snowmobile users. In 2012, the Fish and Wildlife Service proposed to set aside more than 375,000 acres of critical habitat for the caribou, but opposition forced officials to reduce that to 30,000 acres. Partly as a result, these Caribou are now nearly extinct. These magnificent animals are uniquely adapted to the harsh environment of the Selkirk Mountains. We can't let a small group of people concerned only with their own amusement drive them out of existence!2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Donna K.

Support Roof Top Solar PanelsThis provides a diversified source of power, eliminates the need for installing and maintaining hundreds of miles of transmission lines and supports our transition to an alternative energy source. Concentrated energy sources and transmission lines are susceptible to floods, fire. weather events and acts of terrorism.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Myra B.

Ban Fracking in Maryland NowGovernor Cuomo of New York just declared a ban on fracking based on a recently released scientific study demonstrating "significant public health risks" associated with fracking, including water contamination and air pollution. Former Governor O'Malley of Maryland ordered a study of the potential impact of fracking on Maryland, which estimated that drilling and extraction could support as many as 3,400 jobs and generate millions in tax revenues--but that those benefits are likely to last only a few years, and that energy development could hurt tourism and outdoor recreation, two other industries on which Maryland relies. Although O'Malley concluded that fracking could be done safely if very strict regulations are placed on companies for protecting the environment, experience has shown that in practice, regulations are often violated at the expense of the environment. It's not worth the short-term financial gain to put Maryland at risk for long-term disastrous environmental consequences. It is time for Governor Larry Hogan to take action and ban fracking in Maryland now.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amy H.

Congress passes bill that allows the largest land grab of all timesThe acreage they want to give away is the most scared lands of the San Carlos Apache Tribe. They want to strip all of the copper ore out from under the lands where the tribes have used for burials and scared ceremonies of hundreds of years. The company even admits this will cause "a little subsidence" of these lands. What that means is these mountains will collapse after having a huge amount of rock removed from under them. They do not even talk about the fact that this scared mountain is an important part of the water supply to the entire very arid region. Another fact ignored is that they will have to pollute the water resources that are already used in this area in order to get the "Low grade copper ore" out from under them since water is necessary for ore processing. What will the scared lands look like in 10 years? This area of fragile ecology supports many endangered species. All that will be left is a smoldering pile of pulverized rock surrounded by drying up ponds of polluted water. This will not only be an environmental disaster, but the total destruction of the San Carlos Apache Tribe's culture and past. Why are we even talking about allowing a foreign company to destroy Native American property? This does no benefit anyone except a company with ties to China and Iran. Or perhaps certain politicians. The Native Americans have been lied to and cheated by the American Government too many times already. Now they want to allow San Carlos Apache Tribe's most sacred lands to be destroyed so a foreign company can get richer? This is completely immoral and should be totally illegal! Some other American National lands scheduled to be given away or heavily exploited include: 1,600 acres from the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington State for industrial development 70,000 acres of the Tongass National Forest in Alaska would be opened to logging A couple thousand acres of National Lands in North Carolina There are hundreds of thousands of acres of American to be handed off or tied up for industrial destruction in this massive land grab. Why is is all hidden away inside of a defense bill when it has nothing to do with defense, but everything to do with greed? Just when I thought that our Congress could go no lower, they find a new way of demonstrating their complete disdain for the people that they are supposed to be representing. Now they are helping themselves to land that is supposed to belong to all Americans The Congress is giving away out National lands to anyone that they want to. Where do they get the right to give away any American National Lands? Also included in this horrible bill are other areas important to people that they want to give away including National properties in North Carolina. Our National lands belong to the people of this country not to Congress! These people need to be stopped before they destroy the entire country so they can get wealthier! They will be able to afford to leave the remains of this beautiful country after they pillage and rape it, but millions of Americans will not have the same luxury. This is our future generation's heritage that they are so callously wiping out for the purpose of a few selfish people getting richer.261 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Preston B.
